Apocalypse Monday

Since it's Father's Day weekend, take it easy, sit back, have a cold beer, and enjoy the apocalypse.

Apocalypse Monday

Next to a pandemic, the most likely apocalyptic event is a natural disaster. If one of these super volcanoes ever erupts, it'll be a world-changing event.

What To Get Dad for Fathers Day

Fathers Day is just over a week away. Are you having trouble figuring out what to get him? Is a tie out of the question because his tie rack collapsed under the weight of previous years' gifts? Did you use the Dunkin Donuts gift certificates you bought him on yourself?

Well, not to worry. Nothing says "Dad, I love you" like the gift of horror (and I'm not talking about the condition you left the back seat of the family car in after that last ill-advised road trip to see the biggest ball of yarn west of the Mississippi). I'm talking about a horror novel from Burning Willow Press. There are scores of books from dozens of great writers to choose from, including my own post-apocalyptic saga Hell Gate

And the best part, he doesn't have to put it together and spend the day swearing. It's the perfect gift.

A Positive Step Forward

My family is spending our first night in our new home in New Hampshire. It's the first time in over eight months that we've lived in our own place by ourselves, and it's wonderful. It is so quiet out here; I can't hear anything outside. I know I'll get a lot of writing done once we get settled in.

Oh, and did I mention that a spirit lives in the basement where my study will be? My wife and brother-in-law have both felt it, but say it's not malevolent. Hopefully it'll be my muse to write better horror.
